Wonderful for the Price, October 17, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lenovo Z575 129925U 15.6-Inch Laptop (Grey Metal) (Personal Computers) My laptop was stolen a few weeks ago and I needed one quickly for school. If my only intention was to get a laptop for writing papers and surfing the web I would have spent less and almost anything would have worked. I do however like to edit videos in premiere, and pictures in photoshop. I also like to watch and record HD tv and do some occasional gaming. After about a week of looking at different laptops I decided I wanted something with the new AMD A-Series processors with the integrated graphics GPU.
This has been a great machine. Because of the new processors if you aren't doing much then the machine doesn't use much power or processing power. I am getting around 4 hours battery life with several applications open and wifi. I think I could probably get like 5 1/2 if I turn off wifi and turn down the screen all the way. Considering this is a 15'' fully operational laptop (not a table or netbook) this is pretty good battery life.

Out of Box Issues, February 26, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lenovo Z575 129925U 15.6-Inch Laptop (Grey Metal) (Personal Computers) The manufacturer boasts about this machine as being a great platform for music and media entertainment as well as running software programs that assist in getting work done such as Microsoft office and Adobe products. Perhaps they are not wrong to boast this and on the whole they may in fact be among the best manufacturers of laptops currently on the market. However my personal experience was unpleasant enough that I am now in the process of returning it a little over a month later.
Shortly after taking it out of the box, and playing some music I noticed that every few minutes result in a horrendous crackling sound on the speakers. Whatever music I am listening to suddenly gets muffled and for an instant sounds as though the entire band has been thrust into the depths of the ocean only to rise again completely dry. Fast, not bogged down with too much bloat-ware, very nice keyboard feel. The only flaw is the disk drive drawer, which tends to open rather randomly. I am afraid it will get broken sometime during the life of this laptop. I am considering taping it shut.
