Nice computer. Wrong resolution on description, April 8, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Qosmio X505-Q8100X 18.4-Inch Gaming Laptop (Omega Black) (Personal Computers) I love the new computer. I has everything I need. I just wanted to let people know that this model is actually the 8100x and it has a resolution of 1680 x 945 not the advertised (at this time) 1920 x 1080. Amazon did offer me a 10% discount on the product because of this so I am happy with it.

So I cannot speak for shipping quality. But this is beyond the best laptop I have had.
Pro's
-Nice and sturdy
-Huge screen
-Hard drive reseats itself when you tilt it (For protection against damage to the hard-drive)
-Grade A speakers
-Sleek look
-Not too many technical problems.
-Sick graphics and smooth gaming.
Cons
-This baby is a bit on the heavy side. But You can't comprimise the security for weight.
-The outer coating of the laptop is high gloss so you will have to clean it a good amount. (Mess just shows more on it)
Overall, I have had this laptop for about a year and a half now. Never had a problem with it.
I would strongly recommend this to anyone who likes GAMING and graphic using software

I also needed a laptop that had either a built-in firewire 1394 port, or an ExpressCard slot so I could add one. This laptop has both! It took me a while to find this one, because it is a slightly older model now, and all the replacements have neither a firewire OR an ExpressCard slot.
I've played Fallout New Vegas, as well as Skyrim on this laptop, both at ultra-high detail settings, and they both just look gorgeous, with no issues! I also used "PowerDirector" to transfer home videos off of my Sony DV Camcorder, and then edit the videos and produce them and/or burn to DVD. I also use Google SketchUp on this, and no matter now many objects are on the screen, it never slows down or has any issues.
My only "complaints" about this laptop are the size of the power brick (it is huge) and the red highlights on the case. But those are just... Read more
